CITICUS ANNOUNCES COMMERCIAL AVAILABILITY OF
CITICUS ONE RELEASE 1.0
UK company Citicus Limited has announced the commercial launch of
Release 1.0 of its product Citicus ONE - a unique approach for
monitoring and driving down the risk associated with using IT systems.
Citicus ONE has been developed with the assistance of 15
companies - Citicus' Launch Partners - all organisations at the
forefront of information risk management, including Motorola, British
Airways, Pharmacia and Old Mutual.
Citicus ONE is a
web-based system, typically installed on an organisation's intranet. It is
used to gather data through simple-to-complete assessment forms about the
information risk status of all critical information resources (including
business applications, computer installations, networks and systems
development activities). The business owners of these information
resources then receive reports on their risk status, along with guidance
on how to drive risk down to an acceptable level. The organisation's
senior management receive easy-to-understand reports on the overall risk
status of the enterprise, including league tables, priorities for action
and statistics on incidents.
Citicus Managing Director,
Simon Oxley said: "Most organisations are suffering unacceptable
levels of disruption and direct financial loss as a result of security
incidents but many of these are avoidable if information risk is
properly monitored and actively managed. Citicus ONE provides a
unique way of doing this simply, efficiently and rigorously. Organisations
are also under a lot of pressure from corporate governance initiatives
(such as Turnbull and Basel 2) to be more proactive in risk management. For the first time,
Citicus ONE allows them to bring information risk - a increasingly crucial area of operational risk - under good management
control. In the information age, this will be a key success factor. "
