Platform requirements
Citicus ONE is a scalable, web-based application, implemented using mainstream Microsoft technology.
It is designed for installation in a server-based environment (ie supporting multiple users), but can also be installed on a laptop (or similar) supporting a single user.
Multi-user implementations
When installed on a server or group of servers users gain access to the system via their corporate Intranet or the public Internet, using their browsers. Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6 (or later) is the supported browser. To see results at their best, Adobe® Reader® 6.0 (or later) is required, obtainable free from Adobe Systems, Inc.
Staff involved in managing the risk and compliance management process supported by Citicus ONE (ie users fulfilling the system's custodian or local co-ordinator role) also require Microsoft Excel® 2002 (or equivalent) to take full advantage of Citicus ONE's import and export facilities.
No other client-side software is necessary.
Single-user laptop implementations
The system can be implemented on a 'stand-alone' laptop - ie one not connected to any network - with the application, web server, database server and browser installed on the same machine.
Platforms supported
The system will run under the following Microsoft operating systems:
- Windows® Server® 2003: suitable for running a multi-user Citicus ONE installation
- Windows XP Professional and Windows Vista® Enterprise: suitable for running Citicus ONE on a desktop or laptop machine
Server software
Citicus ONE employs Microsoft IIS and Microsoft SQL Server to provide web and database server functionality respectively. Microsoft XML Core Services is also required to facilitate the exchange of data with other systems.
To reduce the cost of laptop implementations, Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition with Advance Services (SQL Server Express Edition) may be employed free of charge, in place of Microsoft SQL Server. This yields a significant saving.
Tiered installations
The application as a whole can run on a single machine. However, its tiered architecture means that it can be configured so that its web server runs on one machine or cluster of machines and its database server runs on another.
Data exchange
Citicus ONE can employ link to an external source (eg Microsoft Active Directory) for user administration and authentication, and can exchange risk and other data with external systems via a defined web service.
